II. SCHOOL LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE

The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance has two categories of leadership that assist in the planning and operational needs of the school and its programs. The two areas of leadership consist of School and Internal program leaders. Each leadership category has different levels of oversight, responsibilities, and how they impact school decisions; each category collaborates with the other in the spirit of shared governance.

II.i School Leadership:

School Leadership is made up of the School Director and three leadership teams that contribute to how decisions, policy, and procedures are created for the school. These leadership teams are the following: the administrative team, the executive team, and the School's Committee on Planning (SCOP). These teams are distinguished by the scope of the teams' oversight, duties, and involvement in each level of school and program leadership. The administration and executive team is led by the School Director and SCOP is led by an elected chair from its committee members each year.

II.i.a Administrative Team:

Administrative team members serve MTD as leaders, collaborators, and representatives of the school or their programs in meetings with school leadership, internal program leaders, and MTD Faculty and Staff. This team will be responsible for overseeing the operational needs for the school or programs they represent, contributing to multiple levels of policy and procedure discussion, and implementing policy, procedure, goals, and initiatives in collaboration with appropriate personnel and staff. Each administrative team member has core functions that are similar and functions unique to their position. Additional duties may be assigned by the School Director based on individual strengths, interest, and need.

The administrative team is composed of four members and the Schools Director (click the position to view position core functions):

In addition to the outlined duties above the administrative team will also serve as permanent positions on each executive team group and SCOP.
